About the Founder | Avery Raquel Ministries
Avery Raquel is a devoted woman of God, Christian author, wife, mother, singer, and founder of Avery Raquel Ministries, home of Disciples of Christ Ministries. Married and blessed with two beautiful daughters, she is passionate about serving Jesus Christ and helping others experience healing, restoration, and spiritual growth through prayer and the Word of God. Her writing also reflects the experience and lessons gained through more than 20 years in the restaurant industry, including her business book The Successful Restaurant: Lessons From 20 Years in the Restaurant Industry.
A Life of Faith, Service, and Preparation
From a young age, Avery recognized that God had given her the ability to sing, and she has always desired to use her voice for the glory of God. Alongside her passion for ministry and writing, she pursued education in both culinary and business fields.
Avery spent one year studying Culinary Arts before obtaining a Career Certificate in Hotel & Restaurant Management, an Associate's Degree in General Business, and a Bachelor's Degree in Business Management.
Avery also spent approximately 1.5 years serving as a teacher in a position she was not formally qualified for, but she believes God sustained and helped her steward the ability to teach during that season as He was preparing her to carry His Word to many nations.
More Than 20 Years of Serving People
Before fully stepping into ministry, Avery spent over 20 years working in the restaurant industry, beginning as a bus girl and eventually working her way into management.
She believes God allowed her to serve people for more than 20 years because He was preparing and building her to serve His people. Through those years, she believes God was shaping her character, teaching her endurance, patience, discernment, leadership, humility, and how to navigate many different personalities and situations, both difficult and simple.
Working in diverse environments also helped broaden her understanding of different cultures and prepare her heart for global ministry and reaching people from many walks of life.
Those experiences allowed her to witness the struggles people quietly carry every day and taught her to rely less on people and trust God more deeply through every season of life.
Business, Stewardship, and Growth
Along the journey, Avery also pursued various business ventures, which she believes God used to teach her responsibility, stewardship, financial wisdom, creativity, and how to manage something of her own.
Through both success and challenges, she learned valuable lessons about perseverance, obedience, wisdom, and trusting God as the true Provider and foundation in every area of life.
Her Heart for Ministry
Avery believes in teaching the Word of God with simplicity, honesty, and in spirit and in truth.
After experiencing difficult situations and disappointments over the years within Christian environments, she developed a deeper conviction to follow Jesus Christ wholeheartedly according to Scripture.
Her passion is to encourage believers to return to the pure Word of God, breaking away from man-made traditions, religious performance, and teachings that move people away from biblical truth.
Rather than simply identifying with religion or titles, she chooses to live as a true disciple of Christ, encouraging others to walk in humility, obedience, love, and simplicity according to God's Word.
She has a deep love for praying for people, helping the poor, encouraging families, and spreading the Gospel of Jesus Christ across nations.
Through testimonies, Bible teachings, outreach, prayer, writing, and music, her mission is to remind people that God is still able to heal, restore, deliver, and transform lives today.
Avery believes true ministry begins with love, compassion, humility, and obedience to God. Her desire is to see souls saved, lives restored, and people develop a genuine relationship with Jesus Christ for themselves.
Through Avery Raquel Ministries, home of Disciples of Christ Ministries, she continues to encourage others to seek God first, walk by faith, and never give up on the promises of God.
