Prayer for Forgiveness and a Clean Heart Before God

Unforgiveness can weigh heavily on the heart, bringing pain, anger, and distance in relationships. God invites us to forgive others, just as He has shown forgiveness to us through Christ. This prayer is for anyone seeking God’s help in letting go of hurt and receiving peace and healing in their heart.

Heavenly Father,

I come before You in the name of Jesus Christ.

Lord, You know the hurt in my heart and the burdens I have been carrying. I bring every wound, every offense, and every painful memory before You.

Your Word says in Ephesians 4:32, “Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.” Lord, help me to walk in this truth even when it is difficult.

Father, I acknowledge the areas where I have struggled to forgive. Today, I choose to release those who have hurt me into Your hands and trust You with my healing.

Your Word also says in Matthew 6:14 that forgiveness is part of the way You call us to live. Help me to walk in forgiveness so my heart can experience peace and freedom.

Lord, heal my emotions and renew my heart. Remove bitterness, anger, and resentment, and replace them with Your peace, grace, and love.

Teach me to forgive not by my own strength, but through Your help and guidance. Strengthen me where I feel weak and help me grow in grace each day.

Restore my heart and lead me toward wholeness and peace in You.

I surrender every hurt, every burden, and every painful memory into Your hands.

Thank You for Your mercy, Your healing, and Your love.
